All retail Cleco customers will see lower energy bills beginning Friday due to a one-time credit of about $475 per customer account.
The Louisiana Public Service Commission ordered the credit as part of a set of commitments the new owners agreed upon to acquire the company.
Getting ready for the Fourth of July
Kenneth Peart, a former Eunice mayor, has kept the July 4th fireworks display tradition alive for more than 20 years. Peart shows off a five-mortar assembly that will be used at the display, which begins at 9 p.m. Monday at the Eunice Recreational Complex on Sittig Road. Peart said about 3,000 rockets will be fired in a show that will last 20 to 30 minutes. (Photo by Harlan Kirgan)
With the Fourth of July on Monday, fireworks will be legal to use until Tuesday, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
Fireworks can be used in the city from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The Eunice city budget for the fiscal year beginning Friday is little changed from this year.
Steven Moosa, CPA, said, “Overall the budget has stayed flat for 2017 compared to 2016.”
