Community Garden open hour Tuesdays
The Eunice Community Garden’s open hour on Tuesday has been suspended until milder weather arrives, Patricia Brown, interim garden coordinator, said.

The Eunice All-Star Mustangs won the state championship. They were to compete in Humble, Texas, in the next level of competition.
Two adages came to mind as I kept noticing weather reports while I was looking for something else in some old newspapers.
The first is, “If you don’t like Louisiana weather, just wait a bit and it will change.” The second is, “Be careful what you pray for.”

Darrel J. Papillion, a partner in the Baton Rouge law firm of Walters, Papillion, Thomas, Cullens, L.L.C., was installed June 9 as the 76th president of the Louisiana State Bar Association during the association’s annual meeting in Destin, Florida.
