A worker removing a windshield from a junked vehicle sparked a fire at Eric’s Auto Salvage Yard off U.S. 190 West at about 1 p.m. Monday.
The second edition of the Experience Louisiana Festival begins at 7 a.m. Saturday with a traditional Cajun boucherie, but officially opens with a New Orleans-style second line parade.
The annual Take Back The Night March and Vigil was held Tuesday at the City Hall parking lot.
The purpose of the march and vigil is to make known and take a stand against sexual violence, increase awareness of violence and speak out against crimes.
Clyde Holloway, chairman of the Louisiana Public Service Commission and a former congressman, died at his home in Forest Hill Sunday.
He was 72.
Holloway suffered from complications with pneumonia.
United Way needs shelving
