The 21st annual Germanfest at Robert’s Cove will be held Saturday and Sunday at St. Leo Catholic Church grounds off La. 98.
The festival opens at 9:30 a.m. with a ceremony followed by a parade and tapping the keg.

A lawsuit aimed at disqualifying one of two candidates for the Distrct 8 seat on the Acadia Parish Police Jury was dismissed.
The lawsuit filed by Gibson Miller challenged the residency of Felton “Tony” Moreau, who is running against incumbent Robert Guidry in the Oct. 24 election.
August unemployment rates fell in St. Landry and Evangeline parishes, and held steady in Acadia Parish compared to rates a year ago.
