Gov. John Bel Edwards announced on May 26 that he will appoint Stephen Perry, of New Orleans; James M. Williams, of New Orleans; and Glenn Armentor, of Lafayette; to the Board of Supervisors for Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College.
LSU’s class of 2015-16 was a groundbreaking one for the university in many areas with new records for African American, Hispanic, female, veteran and overall graduation numbers.
At the spring commencement ceremony on Friday, May 13, at total of 4,102 degrees were awarded – the largest amount of degrees awarded at a single commencement surpassing last year’s 3,977 degrees awarded in the spring.

During LSU’s 289th commencement exercises, more than 4,000 students are expected to receive degrees, which would make the spring class the largest graduating class in LSU’s history.
