On Jan. 26, LSUE Chancellor Kimberly Russell submitted a plan to LSU for how the campus would deal with a possible $ $797,151 budget cut, but Thursday’s announcement that TOPS payments have been suspended will only bump up the day the campus is left in the lurch.

Gov. John Bel Edwards said LSU Eunice will close by April 30 if legislators fail to act on his plan to fix the state’s deficit-ridden budget.
And, there will be no LSU football season, he said.
A check for $3,000 was presented to the LSUE Foundation from the Experience Louisiana Festival proceeds. The presentation was made on the campus Thursday. The festival was was held in October for the first time on the campus. The LSUE Foundation received a $3,000 check from the Experience Louisiana Festival held for the first time on the LSUE campus.
The festival was held Oct. 17 and 18 and drew about 5,000 people for music, folk demonstrations, arts and crafts, poetry, a film festival, and food.
LSU Eunice Continuing Education is offering a new Leisure Learning Course. Signing with Song will be an eight-week course that will use song to help introduce students to sign language.
