The former director of housing authorities in Opelousas, Lafayette and Alexandria faces up to 30 years in federal prison and a half-million-dollar fine after pleading guilty Friday to bribery and wire fraud charges.
Walter Guillory, who will be sentenced June 11, solicited donations for a baseball team he sponsored and collected the payments annually.
About half the $100,000 went to his personal bank account.
Guillory also signed bids that violated federal law.
Guillory is cooperating with federal authorities and is expected to received less than the maximum sentence from Judge Elizabeth Foote.
