Dr. Wilson Knowlton and R.N. Mrs. Clyde Barr have inoculated all students of the primary and elementary departments of local schools for diptheria.

The Rotary Club, at the urging of president Dudley Berwick, voted to sponsor a Boy Scout troop (No. 2) and elected E.E. Broussard as scoutmaster.

A chapter of the Future Farmers of America has been organized at Eunice High by Professor G.C. Meaux. The president is Rouseb Soileau.

The Knights of Columbus of this area had the opportunity to hear an address by William J. Guste of New Orleans, state deputy of the fraternal organization for the past three terms.

McManus Brick Co. is selling its product for $17.50 per thousand in any quantities and sold at any of G.J. Deville Lumber’s three yards -- Eunice, Mamou and Ville Platte.

More than 200 delegates met here for the annual meeting of Louisiana mayors and other officials. Special guest speaker was L.H. Weir of the Playground and Recreation Assn. of America, headquartered in New York City.

Students of the history class of St. Edmond’s High have written President Coolidge and Congressman Rene DeRouen asking for more comprehensive flood control legislation. Hubert Herbert was organizer of the project.

Eleven pure-bred Jersey heifers have arrived here from Tennessee, to be distributed to farmers who purchased them to help establish dairy herds in the area.

A proposed stock law, that would have prohibited loose running livestock in the city, lost in a Eunice vote by 50 votes.

The parish health unit will begin house-to-house sanitary inspections in the city next month.
