Forecasts of downright dreary weather don't dampen plans for Tuesday's Courir de Mardi Gras and the mid-afternoon parade which concludes it.
Mardi Gras Association officials say barring an horrific change in the forecast, the run will proceed, with organizing beginning early Tuesday at the Northwest Community Center.
The season kicked off Sunday with the annual Children's Parade, which began about 9 a.m. and concluded with a parade in the afternoon. Along the way, children chased chickens, had lunch, tossed beads and just generally passed a good time.
