Zachary banker elected to national organization post
Preston L. Kennedy, president and CEO of Bank of Zachary, has been elected treasurer of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) for 2014-15.
Kennedy was elected during the 2014 ICBA national convention in Honolulu. His term began at the conclusion of the convention on Mar. 5.
Kennedy has served in many leadership roles at ICBA. He is a member of the ICBA Executive Committee and the board of directors.
In 2011-12, Kennedy served as at-large director on the Executive Committee and board of directors in 2013-14 and serves on the Federal Delegate Board.
In 2008, Kennedy was elected state director, and he was re-elected for a second three-year term in 2011. He serves as chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank Task Force.
Kennedy served as an appointed director from 1997 to 1999 and was a member of the Federal Legislation, Regulation Review and Lending committees.
In 2010, he was elected to the ICBA Securities Corp. board of directors.

Kennedy has served as president of the Feliciana Chamber of Commerce and the Zachary Chamber of Commerce. He is a past president and active in the Rotary Club of Zachary and is a board member for small business incubator, Dixie Business Center.
Kennedy attended Silliman Institute, holds a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University School of Business and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking of the South.
