Trip to the dentist got worse than usual

Most people don't really like going to the dentist. For a Patterson man, that dislike went to the extreme Tuesday when he accidentally ran his truck through the front of the dentist’s office.
Michael Aloisio, 60, drove his Dodge pickup truck to the appointment at Dr. Dean Listi’s Morgan City office with his wife, Paula, 58, around 9:30 a.m., Morgan City Police Chief Mike Banks said.
Police said the foot of the driver’s braced leg slipped off the brake, got caught under the pedal and hit the accelerator several times as he was getting it loose.
Police said the truck jumped the curb and slammed through the front of the building into a treatment room which was unoccupied at the time. No injuries were reported.
Power was cut to the building, and a contractor was called to shore up the structure and enclose the hole, Banks said.
Aloisio was not cited in the accident as it occurred on private property, the chief said.
