Mildred Brasher Jenkins, educator

Mildred Marie Brasher Jenkins, 75, of Argyle died on March 26, 2014 in Denton.
Mildred was born in Cotton Valley, Louisiana on May 5, 1938 to Dewitt and Nellie Brasher. She was raised by her grandparents, Edwin and Armadilla Booth. Mildred graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. She was an educator in public schools in Basile, LA., Kinder, LA, Brownwood, TX and Westlake, LA.
She was a member of Southmont Baptist Church, Denton.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Jenkins of Argyle; Son, Ed Jenkins and wife Aliya of New York, New York; daughter, Cynthia Burkett and husband, Ed of Argyle; Brothers, Gerald Brasher of Houston, Texas and David Brasher of Marshall, Texas; sister, Louise Boone of Bossier City, LA.; grandchildren, Amelia Jenkins of Southlake, Texas, Jasper Jenkins of Boston, Mass., Cullen Burkett of San Angelo, Texas, Claire Burkett of Argyle, and Adlai Jenkins of New York, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brothers; Teddy Brasher, Bo Brasher, Roy Brasher and sister, Bobbie Olivia.
The Family will receive friends on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5-7pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton,.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 4:00 pm. There will also be a visitation in Basile, La. at Quirk and Son Funeral Home on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm and a Funeral service at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Basile with burial to follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Basile.
