Wednesday final day to register for May 3 voting
Wednesday is the last day for registering to vote and being eligible to vote in the May 3 election.
Registrar Cheryl Milburn said mail-in registration forms can be picked up at City Hall and at the Eunice Public Library.
Three propositions are on the Eunice ballot.
The city is asking for a rededication of a 1% sales tax to allow it to use up to 10 percent of capital improvement funds for response to any future emergency.
The rededication does not involve any new or increased rate of taxation.
Two School Board tax renewals will be on the ballot.
The first is an 11.78-mill property tax which provides about $7 million annually for salaries of teachers and other employees.
The second is a 4.37-mill tax that provides about $2.6 million annually for to operate, improve and maintain schools.
The renewals are for 10 years. The taxes were first levied in 1985.
Neither renewal involves a new or increased rate of taxation
