Gallow is Mercy Award winner
Wanda Gallow has been awarded Mercy Regional Medical Center’s 2014 Mercy Award in recognition of her caring spirit and passion for serving others.
The annual award was established in 2002 to honor the life of Scott Mercy, founding Chairman and CEO of LifePoint Hospitals, of which Mercy Regional Medical Center and Acadian Medical Center are a part.
Being named the local award recipient makes Gallow eligible for LifePoint’s companywide Mercy Award, the highest honor an employee can receive from LifePoint.
The company-wide award will be presented to the one employee who best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded. This individual will be announced and honored during a special ceremony in Nashville, Tenn. in August.
Gallow works in AMC’s materials management department. She has been described as always going above and beyond the call of duty when sometimes not seen or recognized by all, helping out in areas that are not directly related to her specific department or day to day job responsibilities.
“It is obvious that she has an impact on the people she is in contact with whether at work or in our community. Her commitment, caring, and motivation inspires us every day and transcends in all that she does whether it is helping others or through her spirituality,” said CEO Scott Smith.
“We are extremely proud to recognize Wanda for her work on behalf of our patients and our community,” said Smith.
“Her compassion and commitment sets a high standard for health care professionals everywhere. Undoubtedly, our patients benefit from the kind of dedication to excellence and humanitarian efforts that she demonstrates each day.”
