Former ULL dean
LAFAYETTE – Services for former dean of the ULL Graduate School, Dr. Robert Jones, will be Friday. He died April 22 at age 80.
He was a history professor before becoming graduate school dean. He was on the faculty more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife Patricia and four children.
Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.
Former health official
NEW ORLEANS – Services for former state health official Dr. Stuart Haas are pending. He died April 18.
He served many trips on the medical ship Hope and was a former assistant secretary of health for the state of Louisiana.
Arrangements are by Lakeside Memorial Park.
Former Piccadilly president
WACO, Texas – Services for former Piccadilly Cafeterias president and CEO O.Q. Quick will be Saturday. He died April 21 at age 95.
He opened the Picadilly on Austin Avenue in Waco and after 25 years moved to Baton Rouge, La, where he worked for 25 years, expanding the chain to more than 100 cafeterias. He served on the boards of Fidelity Bank and Baton Rouge General Hospital.
Survivors include his wife Madeline and four children.
Arrangements are by Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey.
Former radio singer
ALEXANDRIA – Services for former radio singer Essie Mae Raxsdale will be Friday. She died April 22 at age 90.
She was a regular broadcast singer in the 1940s and 50s with her late husband Eddie and the Melody Playboys.
Survivors include a daughter Mary.
Arrangements are by Hixson Brothers.
