Police: gridders can't block street with their play

Police made it clear to a Mamie Street resident Sunday that her future NFL stars can’t practice their skills in the street.
Officers went to the address about 5:30 p.m. after a complaint about children playing in the street and causing traffic issues.
According to records, at lease of them’s mother was not a happy camper when they arrived.
“It’s not illegal to play football in the street,” she is quoted by an officer as telling police, adding “we need to be arresting drug heads.”
The officer noted the irate woman “was warned if we came back out there they (the kids) will be arrested, including the mother, for obstruction of a public passage.”
There was not indication in the record that police had to return to the scene.
