One killed, one critically injured in plane crash

Police said one elderly man was killed and another critically injured in the crash of a light private plane Sunday.
Just after 11 a.m., police got calls that an airplane had crashed in a field behind some houses in the Pan Am subdivision in south Natchitoches. Emergency personal sent to the scene discovered a blue-and-white Cessna 172 Skyhawk with heavy damage and two occupants inside, Capt. Brad Walker said.
Thaddeus T. Longlois, 83, was dead at the scene. The second occupant, Jack P. McCain, Jr., 80, was seriously injured. Both are from Natchitoches.
It was not known who was piloting the plane.
