Moreauville dog ordinance getting attention

An vicious dog ordinance in Moreauville which was passed after the complaints of several citizens has placed the town in the eye of several national news media outlets, including CNN.
A family who owns a pitt bull has begun a campaign to keep their dog. Jane Armand, dog owner, began a petition which has gained over 40,000 signatures on the internet, as much as Avoyelles Parish. Her plea has also caught the attention of several media outlets around the nation.
Armand said she received a letter from the town informing her she had a deadline to get rid of the dog, or it would be impounded by the town.
Mayor Timmy Lemoine, mayor of the small town of 800, indicated the issue would most likely be brought up again at the next town council meeting. Even if the town council decides to lift the ban on vicious dogs in the town, owners would still have to keep the dogs safely away from the general public.
