Hall of Fame Gala set for Jan. 17

Laissez les bons temps rouler!
The LSU Eunice Athletic Department is hoping the good times roll at their Hall of Fame Gala set for Saturday, Jan.17 at the Acadian Center.
Eunice Zydeco legend Geno Delafose will perform.
“It will not be the tradtional banquet-type induction ceremony,” Dr. Stephen Guempel said. “It is going to be a gala ending with a dance from 9:15 until 11 p.m.”
The 2006 baseball national championship team will be honored as the 2015 Hall of Fame inductees.
The doors will open at 6:45 p.m. and there will be both a live auction and a silent auction.
“We are trying to make it more social and more fun,” Guempel said. “There will Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.”
Tickets will be $50 a person or a table for $500, which guarantees a place to sit for the event.
“We will introduce the team and let people know what each one is doing now,” Willis said.
“That is the interesting part to see where they are now - scattered across the country.”
According to Guempel, the change from a formal setting to the gala will allow the supporters to interact more with the teams and the inductees. “There is something for everyone with the ceremony, the auctions and the music,” he said.
“We want people there, not just buying tickets,” Willis said. “We want to promote not only our athletic programs but the entire campus.”
