11th set of twins born to Benoit family

Chasity Bihm Smith and Koby Smith of Florida announce the birth of their twin sons, Remington and Wesson Smith, born on May 19. Chasity is the daughter of Randy Bihm of Eunice and the granddaughter of Wilma Benoit Bihm and Dale Bihm of Eunice.
The last set of twin sons was born to the Benoit family lineage on Aug. 4, 2014.
Kaleb and Michael Savoy Jr. were born to April Leger and Michael Savoy of Kaplan on Aug. 4, 2014, in Abbeville. April is the daughter of Karl and Sheila Leger of Eunice, and the granddaughter of Jeanette Benoit Prejean and Darrel Prejean of Eunice.
And, so the listing of Benoit family twins continues from the last set born in October of 2011.
A twin herself, Jeanette Benoit Prejean of Eunice welcomed home great-grandchildren, twins, a son and daughter born on Oct. 12, 2011, Marshall Scott and Mikah Michelle Fontenot, born to Jeanette’s granddaughter Michelle Leger of Eunice. The father of the twins is Paul Fontenot of Eunice.
A headline in The Eunice News, printed back in 1953, and read “Eunice wife gives birth to 5th Twins.” The story goes like this, according to Jeanette Benoit Prejean of Eunice, one of the Benoit twins.
On Oct. 12, 1953, Gladys and Charlie Benoit, Sr. of Eunice gave birth to twins, the last and fifth set of twins, Brenda and Linda Benoit.
Their first born, a single birth, was Ruby Benoit, born in 1938.
Along came the birth of twins, Wilma and Wilda Bihm born in 1942.
Then came along Jeanette and Jeanelle, twins born in 1944.
Next born to the Benoits was Judy Benoit, born in 1945.
Then came along twins Joseph Charlie, Jr. and JoAnn Benoit Johnson born in 1949.
Next the Benoits welcomed home Gerald and Darrell Benoit, twin sons, born in 1951.
The legacy and generation of twins continues as Brenda Benoit and Linda Benoit Daigle have in their family each a set of twins.
Brenda’s identical twin daughters are Malisa Uhlman of Texas and Melony Ulhman of Eunice, born Oct. 25, 1982.
Linda Benoit Daigle has 12 children, one deceased, and among her children are twin sons, Dillon and Dirk Daigle of Church Point, born Feb. 16, 1987.
A twin in the Benoit family, JoAnn Benoit Johnson, has great-granddaughter twins, Sammie and Scottie Carrier.
