Vernell Soileau

EUNICE~Vernell Soileau, was 89 years old when he passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Oaklane Wellness & Rehabilitation Center in Eunice. A Mass of Christian will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Lanse Meg with Father Travis Abadie Celebrant.
Vernell proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a retired mechanic and he loved to tinker with cars. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty seven years, Sedonia Soileau of Eunice; his two brothers, Winston Soileau and wife, Pearl of Mamou, J. C. Soileau of Belle Chasse; six sisters, Lelia Mae Pilgrim and husband, Shelby of Eunice , Laura Jane Gattuso and husband, Joe of New Jersey, Shirley Fontenot and Flora Nell Fontenot and husband, Willis all of Ville Platte, Patsy Courville and husband, Joe of Gonzales and Barbara Reed and husband, Donald of Eunice; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lozy Soileau; two brothers, Larry and Sylvan Soileau and a sister, Lou Ella Smith.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, November 16th from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Tuesday, November 17th from 9:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Monday evening.
