Former city attorney
MONROE – Services for long-time city attorney Haynes Harkey, Jr. will be Wednesday. He died April 11 at age 83.
He was a founder of Hayes, Harkey, Smith & Cascio law firm and was Monroe city attorney for 17 years. He was a former president of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel.
Survivors include three children.
Arrangements are by Mulhearn.

Retired educator
OPELOUSAS – Services for former principal Theodore Griffin, Sr. will be Tuesday. He died April 12 at age 86.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was former principal of Opelousas Jr. High and former curriculum director and director of media services for the St. Landry Parish School Board.
Survivors include his wife Beverly, two sons and two daughters.
Arrangements are by Sibille.
