Former ULL professor
LAFAYETTE – Services are Sunday for former head of the ULL Geology Dept. Dr. Walter Kessinger, Jr. He died April 14 at age 83.
He began his career at the university as an assistant professor in 1953.
Survivors include three children.
Arrangements are by Fountain Memorial.

Realtor
BATON ROUGE – Services for realtor and civic leader Julius Bahlinger, III will be Thursday. He died April 21 at age 89.
He was veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a former president of the Board of Realtors and received the Humanitarian Award in 1990. He was a member of the first Bi-Racial Committee of Baton Rouge.
Survivors include his wife Frances and five children.
Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.

Dentist, cutting horse rancher
BATON ROUGE – Services for dentist and cutting horse rancher Dr. Wylie Barrow, Sr. will be Wednesday. He died April 20 at age 92.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a former president of the state Cutting Horse Assn. and member of the board of the national association. He also served on the board of Catholic-Presbyterian Apartments and LifeSpan at Baton Rouge General. He was a member of the University High Sports Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife Sara and several children.
Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.

Former Penn State gridder
BATON ROUGE – Services are Friday for public health worker and former Penn State and NFL football player Carrol Cayette, Jr. He died April 6 in Willingboro, N.J. at age 63.
He was a running back at Penn State and played briefly with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was administrator at the VA in Philadelphia.
Survivors include his father, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Carroll Crayette, Sr., and three children.
Arrangements are by Halls Davis & Sons.

Ob/gyn
LAFAYETTE – Services for ob/gyn Dr. John Straub are pending. He died April 21 at age 92.
He practiced in Lafayette for 47 years.
Survivors include his wife Eleanor and nine children.
Arrangements are by Delhomme.
