Retired judge
JENA – Services for Judge Edwin Hughes will be Saturday in Longview, Texas. He died April 23 at age 78.
He was with the firm of Long & Sleeth before being elected LaSalle Parish district judge. Subsequently, he was appointed by the Department of Justice as a federal immigration judge at both Oakdale, La. and Dallas, Texas jurisdictions. He was a sitting judge for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife Peggy and and six children.
Arrangements are by Rader, Longview.
Ob/gyn
PORT ALLEN – Services for retired ob/gyn Dr. Raymond Mock are pending. He died April 27 at age 73.
He practiced in New Orleans and then in Zachary.
Survivors include his wife Paulette, two sons and a step-son.
A.A.U. coach, radio personality
BREAUX BRIDGE – Services for A.A.U. Hall of Fame member and radio personality David “Big Daddy” Thibodeaux will be Friday. He died April 25 at age 63.
He coached A.A.U. Team Louisiana and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005. He was a radio football announcer for many years.
Survivors include his wife Rose and two children.

Retired banker
LAKE PROVIDENCE – Services for retired banker Thomas Hankins will be Thursday. He died April 28 at age 88.
He was B-24 waist gunner veteran of World War II’s European theater. He retired from Bank of Dixie. He was a former assistant county agent in Caldwell and East Carroll Parishes.
Survivors include his wife Jo Ann, a son and a daughter.
Arrangements are by Cox.
