Auto parts exec
BALL – Services for automotive parts executive Randall “Randy” Rankin will be Saturday. He died Oct. 28 in Montgomery, Texas at age 64.
He started his parts business out of the trunk of his car at age 18 and Rankin Automotive became a publicly traded company.
Survivors include his wife Nadine, his mother and five daughters.
LSUS professor
BOSSIER CITY – Services for music educator and psychologist Dr. Patricia Stanley will be Monday. She died Oct. 24 in Anaheim Hills, Calif. at age 73.
She was a former piano teacher and professor psychology at LSU Shreveport.
Survivors include a daughter Mary.
Arrangements are by Rose-Neath.
Farmer, businessman
BATON ROUGE – Services for farmer and businessman David “Pat” Beach will be Saturday. He died Oct. 29.
He was co-founder of Gulf Coast Occupational Medicine.
Survivors include his wife Hortense and four children.
Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.
Southern U. professor
BATON ROUGE – Services for retired professor and civil rights activist Dr. Julia Purnell will be Saturday. She died Oct. 21 at age 97.
She was a former professor of education at Southern University and international president of The Links womens organization. She was co-founder of a center for indigent persons.
