Family physician
MONROE – Services for family physician Dr. Fred Marx will be Thursday. He died Jan. 20 at age 96.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Following the war, he joined Dr. Robert Simonton in family practice. He was former chief of staff of St. Francis and North Monroe hospitals. He started the first blood bank in Monroe and late in his career specialized in proctology. He practiced 55 years.
Survivors include his wife Lil and four children.
Arrangements are by Mulhearn.
Former mayor
ARNAUDVILLE – Services for former mayor Leo Quebedeaux will be Thursday. He died Jan. 19 at age 78,
He was retired from the Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development.
Survivors include his wife Betty and three sons.
Arrangements are by Pellerin.
Retired fire chief
GRAND COTEAU – Services for retired fire chief Numa Stelly will be Thursday. He died Jan. 21 at age 74.
He was retired chief of the Sunset Fire Dept. and served as town superintendent for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte and a daughter.
