Former ULM women's coach
MONROE – Services are Wednesday for former ULM women’s basketball coach Linda Harper. She died Feb. 15 at age 71.
She was coach from 1978-1990, posting a record of 213-121. Her teams recorded four perfect seasons in Southland Conference competition and the 1984-85 team advanced to the NCAA Final Four semi-finals. Among the All-Americans she coached were Eun Jung Lee and Lisa Ingram. Harper is a member of the ULM Hall of Fame. After retiring from ULM, she went to coach again on the high school and AAU levels.

Optometrist
ALEXANDRIA – Services for optometrist Dr. Joseph Belgard were Sunday. He died Feb. 13 at age 87.
He practiced in Alexandria, Lafayette, DeRidder, Opelousas, Winnfield, and Jena before retiring.
Survivors include a brother and two sisters.

Contractor, racer
ALEXANDRIA – Services for contractor William Roland, Jr. are Monday. He died Feb. 14 at age 78.
He owned and operated Roland Construction for more than 30 years. He was a champion sports car racer, driving and Austin Healey and a Formula Reynard.
Survivors include a son and a daughter.
