Former parish president
GONZALES – Services for former Ascension Parish president Harold Marchand will be Friday. He died March 18 at age 62.
In addition to being former parish president he was a former Justice of the Peace. He worked with Farm Bureau for many years.
Survivors include two sons.

Nursing educator
PONCHATOULA – Services for retired nursing educator Mary Pierson Burris Scott will be Friday. She died March 19.
She taughter at Southeastern Louisiana University and was director of nursing at Northshore Community College, Hammond campus until retirement.
Survivors include a daughter.
Arrangements are by Harry McKneely.

Lt. colonel, flight nurse
ALEXANDRIA – Services for Lt. Col. Marie Smith, USAF Ret. will be Saturday. She died March 18 at age 92.
She was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, promoted to lieutenant colonel in 1969 after post-war duty throughout the U.S., Japan, the Pacific and India. As a civilian she worked at then-Baptist Hospital and help set up the surgical suites at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
