Hilda Fruge Vezina

EUNICE--It is with heavy hearts that the family of Hilda Fruge Vezina announces her passing on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Acadian Medical Center at the age of 97. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, July 01, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.
Hilda loved and enjoyed camping. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her son, Nel F. Vezina of Metairie; daughter, Katina E. Watson and husband, Leon of Lacassine; brother, Weldon T. Fruge of Jennings; sister, Verlee F. Guilbeau and husband, Joseph of Plaquemine; twelve grandchildren, T. Keith Vezina, Daniel F. Vezina, Jr., Katina A. Buono, Michelle D. Bradley, Raymond E. Bradley, III, Sherry J. Watkins, Erin M. Caruso, Maura L. Owers, Yvette M. Lacour, J. Marc Vezina, Scott G. Vezina, and Craig M. Vezina; nineteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J.E. Vezina; son, Daniel F. Vezina; parents, Thomas and Lorena Bazinet Fruge; granddaughter, Debra J. Corson; grandson, Clenton Vezina; and daughter in law, Patricia G. Vezina.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, June 30th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and again on Friday, July 1st from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Thursday.
