Mayo Lee Fontenot
CALIFORNIA ~ Our beloved husband and father, the light of our lives, Mayo, passed away suddenly on September 7, 2015 in Vacaville, California at the young age of 63. He was born in Cottonport, Louisiana on February 29, 1952 to Dallas and Hazel Fontenot. Mayo was a hard worker, working in the oil industry for the majority of his career as a metallurgical inspector. He was an avid tennis player, a longtime SF Giants fan, a proud Eagle Scout, a pursuer of many other hobbies and a wonderful storyteller. Most importantly, he was a family man who would do anything for his “3 girls” and a one-of-a-kind friend often dropping everything for a friend in need.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jennifer, and his two daughters Ashlee Fontenot and Megan Schraer, son-in-law Michael Schraer, siblings Janis Faye Fontenot Picou, Peggy Bodenheimer, Clara Gorley, Ricky Fontenot and Jay Fontenot, several nieces and nephews, and his four-legged best friend, Sammy. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Barbara, Linda and Lula May.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home 524 Elmira Road in Vacaville.
