Mildred Young DeBarge

BASILE~It is with great sadness that the family of Mildred Young DeBarge announces her passing on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Post Acute Specialty Hospital of Lafayette at the age of 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father David Hebert, Celebrant.
Mildred was a homemaker and a devout Christian, who loved helping others. She loved baking and Princess her cat. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her, including her sons, John Anthony DeBarge and wife, Carolyn of Delhi and Luther Neil DeBarge and wife, Phyllis of Youngsville; five grandchildren, Chance DeBarge, Brittany Chataignier, Leah Stoute, Billy Johnson and Angie Dulaney; nine great grandchildren, Cannan, J.P., Anna, Colby, Gabe, Riley, Levi, Vincent and Andre; and one great grandchild, Lola.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold DeBarge; her parents, Benoit and Elta Joubert Young and a grandson, Sean DeBarge.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile on Tuesday, November 1st from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday, November 2nd from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Tuesday.
