House panel OKs REAL ID

The House Transportation Committee put Louisiana closer to take off with REAL ID compliance Monday, approving Senate Bill 227 by Sen. Yvonne Colomb, D-Baton Rouge, on an 11-1 vote, and moves to the full House floor for debate later this week.

REAL ID passes House 90-11

A House bill that would repeal a 2008 ban on the state complying with the federal REAL ID Act was approved, 90-11, Wednesday following a two-hour debate. It now moves to the Senate for consideration.
