NEW ROADS – St. Edmund had an 16-7 halftime lead before the Blue Jays exploded for a 30-14 win over Catholic High of Pointe Coupee in the District 5-1A opener.
Last year, the Blue Jays were one controversial call at the goal line as time expired against Pointe Coupee Central from winning the District 5-1A title.
BELLEVUE – The St. Edmund Blue Jays soared to a 44-0 win over Westminster Christian Academy to close their non-district schedule.
The Blue Jays (2-3) jumped out to a 24-0 first quarter lead and added 14 more points to hold a 38-0 advantage at the break.
Last week, St. Edmund prepared to face an undefeated Opelousas Catholic team.
This week, the Blue Jays travel to take on winless Westminster Christian Academy.
OPELOUSAS – For a while, it appeared the game would be a showdown in O-Town.
In front of a state-wide TV audience, St. Edmund held a 26-20 lead early in the third period over Opelousas Catholic at Donald Gardner Stadium.
