Lady Bengals moving up

The LSU Eunice sophomore softball players made history with the school’s first back-to-back national championships as well as an overall 64-3 finish and an incredible 126-7 two-year record.
Now six Lady Bengals along with a former player are moving on to play at the next level.
“I am very excited they get to continue their academics while playing a game they love,” LSUE head coach Andy Lee said. ‘This group of sophomores will always be remembered for two national championships and school records.”
Emily Nolan, Brooklyn Clark and Codi Covington are all heading to LSU Alexandria along with former Lady Bengal All-American Kelsey Hollier.
They will join former Lady Bengals Brooke Thomas and Taylor Simon who played last season with the Lady Generals.
Pitcher Elizabeth Delafield and catcher Morgan Tauzin are heading to Arkansas-Monticello.
Lady Bengal outfielder Ashley Subervielle will play at Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss.
Clark wrapped up her two seasons with a .534 batting average, 102 total hits and 25 doubles, etching her name in the record books with program single season records in each category. She added three triples and eight home runs, tallying a .577 on-base percentage and a .822 slugging percentage.
Covington closed out her Lady Bengal career with a .407 batting average in 2014, driving in 34 RBI, while adding 15 doubles and eight home runs, notching a .475 on-base percentage and a .624 slugging percentage to go with her overall batting average. She also finished with 23 steals while being thrown out only once all season.
Covington was the 2013 tournament Most Offensive Player as she helped the Lady Bengals grab their second championship.
Nolan ends her Lady Bengal career with her name in the record books as well, connecting for 21 home runs this season and driving in 102 RBIs, both new program bests, while tying Clark for the most doubles in a single season with 25. She finished with a .452 batting average, a .518 on-base percentage and a .931 slugging percentage.
Subervielle hit .291 her sophomore season with 28 RBI, nine doubles, three home runs and 23 runs scored. The oufielder was the 2013 title game MVP.
As a strong defensive catcher, Tauzin hit. 207 with four doubles, four RBI amd eight walks in just 58 at-bats.
Delafield went 6-0 in the circle including a win in the title game. She struck out 29 with six walks and a 1.46 ERA.
Clark, Covington and Nolan named National Fastpitch Coaches Association First team All-Americans s following their selection as NFCA All-Region players as well.
Kelsey Hollier, an 2013 First Team All-American spent last year off the field but will also move on to LSUA.
Hollier hit. 393 as a sophomore including a school-record 81 RBI, 13 home runs, 20 doubles and five triples.
Sophomore third baseman Carey Alexis and shortstop Caitlyn Blanchard are focusing on their future education and will not play softball this fall.
