Nine Lady Jays land on 5-1A All-District team

All four teams from District 5-1A made the LHSAA softball playoffs led by top seed Catholic High of Pointe Coupee.
St. Edmund finished third in district behind CHPC and Sacred Heart of Ville Platte.
The Lady Jays (12-9, 2-4) placed nine players on the All-District team including three First Team selections.
Senior third baseman Constance Fontenot made first team as an infielder, while Heather Bieber was named to the first team outfield.
Baylee LaFleur who saw action at shortstop and catcher earned first team utility player honors.
Kasey LaFleur was named to the second team as a pitcher, along with senior first baseman Maddie Andrus and outfielder Heidi Bieber.
Senior second baseman Jada Fontenot earned a Honorable Mention spot along with Jami LeBouef and Sydney Thibodeaux.
District MVP honors went to CHPC pitcher Ryann Bizette.
SHVP’s Doug Guillory was named district coach of the year.
