Allegedly drunk driver kills two on Baton Rouge bridge

An allegedly drunk driver killed two people and injured three others on the Mississippi River Bridge early Sunday.
Police said Dedrick Matthews, 38, was booked with vehicular homicide, vehicular negligent injury and second-offense DWI after his vehicle rear-ended another. Two of the other vehicle’s occupants died.
They were 26-year-old Johnny Galmon of Baton Rouge and 19-year-old Kandace Cox, no address provided. The accident occurred about 2:45 a.m.
One occupant of Matthews’ vehicle and two in the other were taken to a hospital, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
