ATV, airborne through intersection; two killed, one injured

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, a 4-wheeler accident killed two adults and injured a juvenile just after 1 a.m. Sunday.
Couvillon said the 4-wheeler was traveling west on Clint Rd. (near Indian Bayou School), failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of La. Hwy. 35 and Clint Rd and crashed into a ditch embankment, and all three passengers were ejected.
34-year-old Shawn Lalonde and 29-year-old Kyle Dudding were dead at the scene. A third passenger, who is a juvenile, was transported to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.
Sheriff Couvillon says that evidence at the scene suggests Shawn Lalonde was the driver, and a slight incline in the roadway may have served as a ramp which enabled the 4-wheeler to become airborne before it crashed. Toxicology samples will be submitted to crime lab for analysis.
