Ethel couples' deaths has community shocked, nervous
Little is known, or at least made public, at this time about circumstances leading to the deaths of an Ethel couple over the weekend.
East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office deputies and Louisiana State Police are investigating the deaths of Eddie Hall, 53, and his wife, Connie, 51, of 4077 Lillian Lane in East Feliciana, north of Slaughter, off W.T. Hall Road.
Deputies discovered the bodies of the Ethel couple inside their home Sunday about 4 p.m., according to Sgt. Kevin Garig, a spokesman for the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office.
Garig said he could not say whether the deaths of the couple were a double homicide, a murder-suicide nor could he comment on how the two may have died.
Because of so-far-unconfirmed circumstances, surrounding neighbors and families who live in the small rural town of Ethel are both shocked and nervous, unsure whether a killer could be roaming around.
The Halls' home is located at the end of a gravel driveway and somewhat secluded. Trees, a pond and fields surround the home, with neighbors' homes beyond that.
Neighbors said that the Halls were nice, quiet and kept to themselves. It is believed that Eddie Hall worked as a painter but it is unknown if his wife worked outside the home.
Crime technicians and investigators worked the scene looking for clues and evidence on Monday.
Garig said there are no obvious motives in the case at this time but investigators are working every possible lead.
