Grand jury indicts pair on more than 400 sex counts

A Rapides Parish grand jury has indicted Dorothy Jean Vanasselberg of Elmer and Kyle Smith Hauenstein of Pineville on hundreds of sex charges.
Vanasselberg, 32, is charged with 53 counts of aggravated rape, 42 counts of sexual battery, 79 counts of aggravated incest, 48 counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and 25 counts of pornography with juveniles, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Hauenstein, 39, ischarged with 61 counts of aggravated rape, 41 counts of sexual battery, 26 counts of aggravated incest, 65 counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and 355 counts of pornography with juveniles.
The case began with a complaint about possible sexual contact between Vanasselberg and a juvenile.
