More grass carp put into Spring Bayou complex

Approximately 20,000 grass carp were released into the Spring Bayou complex Thursday as part of the overall management plan for the local recreational lake.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries began releasing the fish at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 2.
The new fish will be 12 to 14 inches long, a LDWF spokesperson said.
The introduction of the grass carp a few years ago is credited with helping to bring Spring Bayou back as a recreational site for boaters and fishermen.
