Olive Street Bistro, Shreveport, falls to flames

A restaurant with a passing role in a Kevin Costner movie burned to the ground Monday night.

Fire crews were able to keep the Olive Street Bistro flames from spreading to an adjacent apartment building.

In 2007, the eatery had a small part in Mr. Brooks, filmed here after crews were forced to move from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

The restaurant in the Highland area served Italia and Mediterranean specialties. It was opened by Guiseppe Brucia, who sold it to Fernando Maldonado.
