Three charged in Lecompte bank robbery

Three men have been charged after an attempted robbery at the Red River Bank branch in Lecompte, according to a release from the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Two of the men are from LeCompte. They and an Alexandria suspect are accused of robbing a bank customer who was making a night deposit on July 21. One of the suspects is an employee of the bank customer.
A Burger King employee told deputies that the they were “surprised and robbed of the deposit by two suspects.”
The Rapides Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division led detectives to a third suspect – James Derrick Dyess Jr., a Burger King employee – was involved in both the planning and the execution of the crime.
Dyess, 19, of 1970 Water St., Lecompte, was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree robbery.
Stanley Ray Brown Jr., 22, of 3010 Gum St., Lecompte, and Jason Lenard Singleton, 23, of 3614 Green Meadows Circle, Alexandria, were arrested July 31. Both were charged with second-degree robbery.
All three suspects are being held in the Rapides Detention Center with bonds of $250,000 each.
