Two men die in Bunkie murder-suicide
A murder-suicide rocked a Bunkie neighborhood in the early morning hours of September 20. Two men were killed in a domestic dispute that turned deadly.
Bunkie Police Chief Bobby Corner said the incident occurred at 307 South Marshall Street in Bunkie when a boyfriend and girlfriend were having an argument in the bedroom of the home.
Chadrick Dupre, 31, of the same address, and his mother were trying to intervene and stop the argument but the bedroom door was locked. They broke the door down and entered the room.
At that time, the boyfriend, Tavin Dupre, 24 of 209 South Wavell Street in Bunkie, allegedly, shot and killed Dupre. He then, allegedly, shot and killed himself.
A .22 caliber pistol was used in the shooting and both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The mother, who owns the South Marshall Street home, and her daughter were not hurt in the deadly incident.
The Bunkie Police Department was assisted by the Avoyelles Parish Coroners Office.
