Hickerson, Francis exchange vows during double-ring ceremony
The Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice served as the setting for the double-ring afternoon ceremony uniting Rachel Hickerson and Ryan Christopher Francis in Holy Matrimony.
The ceremony was held on Saturday, June 4 at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Jermaine Tezeno officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hickerson Jr. of Eunice, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Francis of St. Martinville.
Vocalists during the ceremony were Patricia Chatman, Micah Chatman and Damien Papillion along with musician Doc Edwards.
Ushers were Albert Hayes of Eunice, Courtland Washington of Dallas, Quinton Washington of Dallas; and hostesses were Karli Broussard of St. Martinville, Kiana Francis of St. Martinville, Kavolshaia Howze of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jennifer Smith of Baton Rouge.
The bride, given away by her father, was stunning in a strapless, sweetheart bodice encrusted wedding gown accented with tulle and silk organza embroidered with beads and pearls. Her headpiece was a tulle veil hand stitched with beads and pearls.
She carried a hand-held dipped colored roses wrapped in diamond white lace and accented with pearl pins.
Matron of honor was Anitra Moore of Richmond, Texas, sister of the bride; and Maid of honor was Keshia Johnson of Riverdale, Georgia, sorority sister.
Bridal attendants included Dafnee Chatman, friend of the bride, Arielle Collins, sorority sister, Tiffany Guillory, friend of the bride, Kristen Hardy, sorority sister, Brittney Joseph, friend of the bride, Heather Smith, Darnae’ Taylor, and Joia Vallery, all sorority sisters.
The bridesmaids wore Iris crepe one-shoulder formal gowns and carried hand-held bouquets of lavender roses.
Angel Moore served as flower girl for the ceremony.
Best man was Robert Francis of St. Martinville, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen included Alvin Colbert of Houston, friend of the groom, Jordan Francis of Dallas, Bralin Johnson of Ville Platte, both cousins of the groom, Quinlan Joseph of Houston, Jamar Mouton of St. Martinville, Jon Matthew of New Orleans, all friends of the groom, Troi Moore of Richmond, Texas, brother in law of the groom, Perry Robertson of St. Martinville, cousin of the groom, and Andre Savoy of Shreveport, friend of the groom.
The groom wore a classic white and black tuxedo and the groomsmen wore dark grey tuxedos with matching Iris shirts.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Chateau de Memories.
The couple honeymooned in Aruba and have made their home in Lafayette.
The bride is a graduate of Grambling State University, Florida A & M University, and she is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
The groom is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Southern University.
