These are just some of the things children want to be when they grow up, and one local girl may be on her way to a career at her dream job.
Ava Brasseaux, of Eunice, said, “I want to be a movie star.”
A can-do attitude has earned one woman the 2015 Rotary Citizen of the Year award.
Eunice aldermen are requesting the state Department of Transportation and Development repair Maple Avenue from Bobcat Drive to the La. 13 turn to Crowley.
Aldermen also included a request that the state expedite bridge work at Bobcat Drive and Maple Avenue.

Jan. 19
Gregory J. Granger, 49, 1700 block of Scott Street, Eunice Bench warrants for driving under suspension, no insurance, failure to secure registration, altered license plate and expired license plate.

Attorney General Jeff Landry is warning Louisiana residents and businesses to be vigilant of telephone scammers claiming to be associated with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality is reminding residents and businesses located in and around the Morganza Spillway area to make preparations in advance of the potential river flooding in the region.
Tuesday, January 19 is the day the Louisiana Department of Revenue begins accepting and processing 2015 state individual income tax returns. The filing deadline is Monday, May 16.
