After months on the campaign trail and countless public appearances, one might think that newly elected David Smith may take a few days off to relax before he is sworn in as Acadia Parish’s newest district judge.
However, he is still waiting for the chance.
White-Spunner Construction, based in Mobile, Ala. is in the final stretch in the construction of the Walmart Neighborhood Market in Mamou, that will offer groceries, pharmaceuticals, general merchandise and gasoline.
Each year, millions of dollars are donated to universities across the country to help fund campus causes and scholarships, and students are working to return the favor right here in Eunice.
Kirkland May, a senior at EHS, provides handyman services at Reps Gym as part of his internship with David’s Handyman Service. May hopes to own his own construction business one day.
When Kirkland May opens his own construction company, he’ll have David’s Handyman Service and Reps Gym to thank for teaching him how to be a successful business owner.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
