The transition process began Monday in the Eunice Police Department and City Court, less than 48 hours after winners in Saturday’s run-off voting had been decided.
Terry Hoychick was elected city court judge and Randy Fontenot was the police chief winner.

Your packages are in the custody of the Eunice Police after they went Sunday afternoon to a South 12th Street address where they had been left by the delivery service driver.

The Community Chest program recently launched by the City Council has already collected $300 in addition to new clothes and toys donated by merchants for needy families, according to Mayor J.B. Lewis.
The headline grabbed his attention, and Allen “Gus” Miller of Eunice immediately purchased a copy of the newspaper that had sent him spinning.
Eunice voters on Saturday stuck to November primary favorites in picking city-wide contest winners in the runoff general election.
Officials elected in Saturday’s runoffs and in November will receive their commissions later this month and take office in January.
Early voters gave Randy Fontenot a substantial edge in the Eunice Chief of Police race in Saturday's general election runoff, with other contests much closer in the early counts.
Fontenot led the primary. In early voting for Saturday he had 61 percent of the vote to Raymond Cole's 39.
