A bicycle struck by a pickup truck is seen through the door window on Fournerat Road on Tuesday morning. The bicyclist, who was on the way to classes at LSU Eunice, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a Lafayette hospital.
An LSU Eunice student riding her bicycle to school was struck by a pickup truck Tuesday morning of Fournerat Road south of the campus.
She was airlifted to a Lafayette hospital.

0123 Traffic stop, 100 block South East, male driver asked if any weapons in vehicle, driver reached inside and grabbed pistol and pointed in officer’s direction, ordered to drop it, ended up that weapon was BB pistol.

Olan “Arlen” Deville, age 63, 209 Cimmaron Dr., Opelousas, LA, 18 counts of criminal mischief, public intimidation, bench warrant.
A Friday night performance of “Cajun Face”, a multi-media production about young Cajuns in Acadiana, will be held at the Liberty Theater on Oct. 3 from 6:30 until 8 p.m.
Tickets are $5, general admission seating, and doors and ticket window open at 5:30 p.m.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
