Crop duster make an emergency landing

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office reported an emergency landing of a crop duster on Wednesday in the Lyon Point area of Acadia Parish. No injuries were reported.  Acadia Parish deputies and local fire departments responded. The name of the pilot and other details were not released.

May public prayer at St. Anthony’s
During the month of May a rosary and Divine Mercy chaplet will be prayed daily at 5:30 p.m. at the shrine of the Blessed Mother in front of Saint Anthony’s rectory.
The public is encouraged to participate.

DOTD plans to fix U.S. 190 drains in Eunice

Drains with sharp drop-offs on U.S. 190 in Eunice will be altered to make them more vehicle friendly, Bill Olivier, state Department of Transportation and Development district engineer administrator said.
We are trying to work on that situation,” he said.

Aldermen take another swing at golf carts on city streets

The Rev. Lloyd Antoine returned to the Eunice Board of Aldermen in a bid to clear the way for the legal operation of golf carts on city streets.
Antoine asked for an ordinance to allow the operation of golf carts about a year ago with no results.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
