Fontenot transitions from council to mayor

Scott Fontenot, named interim Eunice mayor, said it has been a smooth transition switching from his council seat to the top job at City Hall.
“I’m not going to do anything major,” he said Thursday at a Eunice Kiwanis Club meeting. “I am going to run for mayor in March.”

Acadia Parish 4-H agents, youth leaders visit Kiwanis

Agents and youth leaders from Acadia Parish 4-H visited with the Eunice Kiwanis Club Thursday, and each of the 4-H members shared what being a member of the club has taught them.

START, the Student Tuition Assistance and Revenue Trust, is a 529 plan under the Internal Revenue Service code, which offers federal and state incentives to fund a college education.
